Here is the agenda for Malcolm's Mill please feel free to join our event.

Battle of Malcolm’s Mill (The Last Shot Fired)

The Battle of Malcolm’s Mill committee is hosting the 200th anniversary of the last battle on Canadian soil during the War of 1812. The battle was on November 6 th, 1814 but due to unknown conditions of the battle field in November (can be like a bog at that time of the year) they have asked us to hold an event on June 27th, 28th 29th, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held on this weekend, 2014 at the Oakland,Cemetery ,Oakland, Ontario to honer those veterans from the war.

This event is going to be a one day event  (June 28th 2014) but we are opening up the camp on Friday 27th at 3:00 pm so we can set up the day before and we will have the camp available on the Sunday with some activity’s if we so desire. Supper will be up to each unit to provide to their  own troops, cooking fires will be permitted or can be purchased from the Lions Food Booth.

NOTE:
Sutlers wishing to set up are required to pay a fee of $60.00 as mandated by Brant County. This fee is out of our control for this event

This small battle was based on Brig-General Duncan McArthur and his Kentucky/Ohio Militia and their native allies against the local militia, Middlesex, Oxford and Norfolk Militias. Because of this we are asking the re-enactors to be in militia uniform or civilian attire if possible. If you wish to bring your units uniforms for demonstrations and pictures please feel free to bring them along. The artillery will not take part in the battle since it was not there 200 years ago. Any artillery is being asked to give demonstrations .

Oakland, Ontario is a small community just south west of Brantford,Ontario.  Information web sites
